Historo review (2026): AI-generated history lessons
Short answer
Historo: Learn History builds bite-sized lessons, quizzes, courses, "chronicles" and an AI tutor with AI, in 12 languages, and scores 6.4/10, #2 of 12. It is strong on learning design (streaks, XP, weekly community challenges) and has structured courses "from prehistory to modern times", which puts it second in our overall ranking. It is weak on sources: its lessons are AI-generated and its own listing warns that "AI can make mistakes — always double-check important information", so it passes only 1 of 5 Timeline Test questions. A selection of lessons is free; Historo+ costs $8.99 to $9.99 a month or $34.99 to $59.99 a year. If you want human-written, fact-checked lessons with credited images, Aurelius (our app, 9.2/10) is the alternative.
